Navigating food allergies is very difficult on your own, it's frustrating and discouraging at first. I have been feeding my family mostly gf and absolutely nut free for nearly 4 years now. The only time we eat gluten is if it's fed at a gathering, or Shylee is away.I know how to make food taste the best and have spent the money on buying over priced and or bad products because I had minimal guidance. I would like the newbies to the food allergy community to learn that there are options and ways to save time and money using both store bought and homemade products. Don't feel that your only options are salads, and rice. At first that was our only option for both Shylee and Rory because gluten free is expensive. I have learned to make our classic favorites in bulk and freeze them so we have a quick go to. Many restaurants have no selection of gluten free or very limited options. Eating out for us has become less and less over the years due to the kiddos allergies, which is fine with us.
